	The Avi Granite: 4 is a new quartet performing original, progressive jazz. Stylistically blending a variety of compositional forms with elements from the jazz tradition, film music and new improvisational concepts. This international group is comprised of Canadian composer/guitarist Avi Granite, and Canadian bassist Neal Davis, with Swiss composer/saxophonist Christoph Grab and Swiss drummer Marius Peyer. In January of 2008 the quartet performed in Copenhagen, Denmark at Christianias Jazz Club, Blagards Apotek and just outside of Zurich, Switzerland at Jazzclub Allmend. The majority of the songs are composed by Avi Granite, whose latest CD “Avi Granite:6 – Red Tree” (Pet Mantis Records) received a 4 star review in the February 2008 edition of Down Beat Magazine. The group also performs compositions by acclaimed Swiss composer Christoph Grab. Between these two musical architects there truly exists a unique dialect of modern jazz. The music language shared by these musicians is diverse in style and progressive in improvisational exploration.
